Swamped indoors on a rainy day and don’t know what to do? Here I share my favorite ideas.
Camp In: Pretend to have a Camp out in your living room with you kids. Put up a makeshift tent, bring out the popcorn, light a lamp, and pretend you’re out in woods. Even have a meal in there picnic style.
Bake – If the power isn’t out like it does in India then plan a baking session. Make easy cookies or cakes and that will keep you and who ever is helping you busy. Here is a link to my favorite haunt for recipes
Hobby Time – If there was project planned but shelved, bring it out and start again. It’s a great use of your time. For me, it means I can sit down and fill my recipe book, peruse through all my cookbooks and create my own folder of favorite recipes. This is also a great time for those who like to sketch, draw, paint, sew. Bring out the artist in you.
Yoga & Meditation – This is an excellent time to de-stress with some Yoga and also meditation. Get your stretches in and focus on your breath.
Home Spa – Indulge in some Me-time and pamper yourself. Give yourself a facial, hair mask or a mani-pedi and catch up on your grooming.
Get Neighbourly – Get your neighbors together for tea. Since you can’t expect people to brave the rain and travel far, this is a great time for some catch-up time with neighbors. I’m presuming you like them that is.
Movie Time – You probably don’t need me to tell you this. Snuggling up under a blanket with a big bowl of popcorn and watching a movie with your loved ones is a great way to spend time. You may also take turns telling each other stories.
Reading, crafting, cooking, movie watching, board games, puzzles all are great ideas for a rainy day.
